wNote is designed to facilitate quick note-taking on the Apple Watch in situations where the paired iPhone is not accessible. For example, it proves useful at the gym when the iPhone is stored in a locker and disconnected from the watch. Additionally, it provides a discreet alternative to voice dictation by allowing users to jot down notes directly on the Apple Watch.

The app enables note creation directly via the Apple Watch without requiring the iPhone application. The optional iPhone app extends functionality by offering choices between Location Notifications and Event Reminders. When Event Reminders are selected, notes created on the Apple Watch synchronize with the Reminders app on the iPhone. The iPhone app also supports setting a geofence location; if a note is created while outside this perimeter, the app attempts to notify the user upon returning within the geofence—such as creating a note at the gym and receiving a reminder upon arriving home.

Note: Continuous background use of GPS can significantly impact battery life.
